Poetry Bloopers 2023!

To finish off the year with a little chuckle and insight into the challenges of recording all my poetry, I thought I'd continue with mu tradition of posting a bloopers reel!

From the never-ending problem of the noisy streets of London to slamming doors, hay fever, summer heat, unruly hair and apparently an issue with the word, "Exodus," recording certainly put me through my paces in 2023! If anyone knows what a "hedge-uh" is, please do let me know.

There's also nothing quite like getting to the end of a six minute poem, only to mess things up on the last three words! I'm always so grateful for the poetry God puts on my heart though and I love having new things to record. May there be many verses to challenge me in 2024!

God bless you and Happy New Year when it comes. :) Love Lucy x

Women Of The Bible- Mary, Mother Of Jesus

It seemed only fitting to conclude my, "Women Of The Bible" series by taking a look at Mary, The Mother Of Jesus. I pray this study and meditation can be edifying and uplifting for us this December. It certainly gave me plenty to mull over and give God thanks for this Christmas!

I really hope you've enjoyed this series for 2023. Studying just a few of the women found in Scripture has been both challenging and helpful for me and I pray it's been of use to you too! God bless you and onwards to 2024! Love Lucy x

But God Comforts The Downcast

This month sees the end of my, "But God" series for 2023. In these verses, I've focused on some of the "But God" Scriptures which tell us, "But God...is always with us, gives the increase, fights our battles, raised Jesus from the dead, protects us, sees all people as equal, showed His love while we were still sinners, will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able, chose the foolish things, hears and with Him all things are possible." What an incredible list of truths that enable and encourage us as Christians.

We finish this series by taking a look at 2 Corinthians 7:5-7 which tells us, "But God comforts the downcast." Are you downcast this Christmastime? December can be tough. Please know you're not alone and our loving, caring and infinite God has an endless supply of compassion for those who are downcast and struggling this season.

I pray these verses and Scriptures can bless you today and I hope you've enjoyed this series. Much love, Lucy x

Jesus Is our Peace

Well I can't believe it but here is the last verse in my 2023, "Jesus Is..." series! This year we've gone through Scriptures and verses that show us Jesus is our Creator, Father, Friend, Saviour, Warrior, Advocate, Righteousness, Refuge, Strength, Rock, Anchor, Hope and now finally, our Peace.

In a month when things can get chaotic and many factors can rob us of our peace, I pray these words and Scriptures can really encourage and uplift our hearts today.

I hope you've found this series helpful as we've gone through the year and may the Prince of Peace reign in us heart, mind and soul this Christmastime! God bless you and I praise the Lord that Jesus is so many amazing things to us! Love Lucy x

Women Of The Bible- Delilah

My penultimate lady of focus for my 2023 series called, "Women Of The Bible" is the formidable Delilah. This woman is someone we meet in Judges 16 and I pray my poetry and study on her can give us much food for thought today. God bless you, Lucy x

But God Hears

My penultimate verses for my, "But God" series focus on the heartwarming and reassuring truth that God hears our prayers. Do you feel unheard today and like your voice is going unnoticed? Call out to Jesus! His ears are always attentive to the calls of His children.

Wednesday 1 November 2023

Jesus Is Our Hope

The penultimate verse in my, "Jesus Is" series focuses on the fact that Jesus is our Hope. A soul without hope is a broken and lost soul indeed.

There are so many people in this world who live without hope. May we use our lives to share the wonderful, blessed privilege of having hope in our hearts when we know Jesus as Saviour!

Women Of The Bible- Sarah

The lady of focus for October's edition for my series, "Women Of The Bible" is Sarah, wife of Abraham.

Let's Gather Roses

My husband and I were enjoying breakfast one morning in Florida with a dear friend of ours called Howard. Despite having lived and worked in Florida as an Assistant Pastor for thirty five years, Howard still chatted away to us in his broad, Derbyshire accent. He was asking us if we were enjoying our holiday and encouraged us to make precious memories together.

Howard’s lovely wife and bride of over fifty years had gone to be with the Lord five years prior but he went on to share some advice that had been given to them both when they were a newly married couple. He said, “I’ll never forget the words of advice given to Doreen and I when we were not long married. A precious older lady and sister in Christ said to us, ‘Be sure to gather roses while you may because life is short.’ Doreen and I lived by those words and gathered as many ‘roses’ as we could in our five decades together.”

I thought this was such a beautifully moving metaphor for making the most of the valuable time each of us are given on this earth and found the sentiment to be truly inspirational. I even found myself looking at my husband as we set off in the car that afternoon and with a smile I said, “Let’s gather roses, Jano.”

Later that evening, I was thinking about that ladies’ words, passed on to us through Howard all those decades later and thought it was a glorious idea for a poem. Before long, I found myself writing down a few verses and I pray they can encourage each of us never to take life for granted. May we really appreciate the gift of time and the wonderful experiences God blesses us with in our lives.

Whether we’re newly married, have been married for years or walking through life as a singleton with our First Love, Jesus, may we see each day as a new opportunity from Heaven to make the most of things. Let’s gather roses while we can!

One Another

In October 2023, my husband and I were on holiday in Florida to visit his family. His Aunt Carol asked me if I had a poem that focused on the verses of the Bible that mention the words, “one another.” These two words appear many times together throughout Scripture and Carol was going to be speaking at a Ladies’ Conference where “One Another” was their theme.

I had a look through my poems and realised that although many of them touched on the subjects found within these verses, none of them seemed to come directly from that specific angle. As always, I love it when I find a gap in my poetry ministry and decided to pray about filling that space with a new poem!

Although there are hundreds of places in Scripture where we find the words, “one another,” I decided to focus on just a few verses. Thankfully, the Lord quickly placed a message in my heart and one key passage I honed in on, was Romans 12:4-5. Those verses read,

“For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”

A second section of the Bible that I used as a main focal point was Ephesians 4:25. The verse reads,

“Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbour,” for we are members of one another.”

I wrote the words of my poem from the point of view that it’s a loving letter of instruction and advice from the perspective of God the Father, straight to His children. It really is such a precious and privileged thing to be a part of the family of God. I pray these words can inspire us to strive to keep unity within the Body of Christ with a fierce love and passionate loyalty towards one another. May we truly value the heavenly gift of family and look out for the interests of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

But With God All Things Are Possible

October's "But God" verses focus on the incredibly encouraging words of Matthew 19:26. The verse reads,
“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””

What "impossible" trial, task or situation are you facing today? Nothing is impossible for our Sovereign Creator. Let's bring our "impossible" before the Throne of God in prayer today and invite His power in! L x

Jesus Is Our Anchor

Welcome October! To celebrate the start of the new month, my "Jesus Is..." series focuses on the reassuring truth that Jesus is our Anchor. Praises to the God who holds us fast through the storms of life. Even in gentle waters, a vessel can slowly drift off course. Not so when we stay rooted to Jesus! Thank You, Lord for our Anchor!

Women Of The Bible- Esther

I decided to take a closer look at the incredible woman known as Esther for my "Women Of The Bible" series, September edition. What a lesson on boldness and living for a higher purpose!

Faithful To The Calling

The Great Commission for the Christian, has and always will be, to lovingly deliver the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the hurting world around us. The Bible teaches us that our primary calling as followers of Christ is to declare the whole counsel of God to the lost. As the Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 2:23-26,

“And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”

Those words are a beautifully clear outline of our responsibility as Christians but sadly, there are many churches in these current times who are forsaking the truth and preaching another Jesus whom the Bible does not preach. Many are teaching from the pulpit and sharing a different gospel which the Bible does not teach. Tragically, the words from Paul later on in 2 Timothy are heartbreakingly poignant for what we see going on today. In Chapter 4:3-4 he tells us,

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

Fables don’t save souls. Only God’s unchanging truth can save the sinner from an eternity without their Saviour, Jesus Christ. Sadly, despite what we are taught throughout the entirety of the Bible on the subject of sin and repentance, there are many in churches these days who seek to not only excuse sin but promote it. Preaching a false gospel is not a loving thing to do. Affirming anyone in a lifestyle that the Bible clearly tells us will lead to an eternity separated from God is one of the most un-loving things a Christian can do.

It’s for this reason that my poem is called, “Faithful To The Calling.” As Christians, we’re being pressured more and more to go against or twist Scripture and endorse people in their sinful lifestyle. The war truly rages for the lost souls of this world so may we, as believers, stay faithful to the calling given to us by our Saviour. By God’s grace, may we be unwavering in accurately and lovingly delivering the soul-saving truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

But God Chose The Foolish Things

September's "But God" statement takes a look at 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 where we read that God chooses the foolish, lowly and weak things of this world to shame the strong and bring His name glory.

So often, God's ways challenge our worldly perspective on things and turn everything we know upside down. I'd say this is definitely one of those times!

I hope these poetry verses and Scriptures can encourage us today to commit everything we have over to the Lord with a humble heart. May we be inspired to trust that no matter how inadequate we may feel, when our efforts are for Jesus' glory then He can use us mightily in service for His Kingdom!

Monday 4 September 2023

Jesus Is Our Rock

September's verse for my, "Jesus Is" series focuses on the reassuring truth that Jesus is our Rock. So many people have no real security in this life and I always think it's such a privilege to have Jesus, supporting me through all seasons of life.

I hope this poetry verse and Scriptures can encourage and comfort our hearts today as we dwell on this wonderful promise.

Women Of The Bible- The Woman With The Issue Of Blood

For August's edition of my "Women Of The Bible" series, I decided to take a closer look at the unnamed woman we read about in Mark 5 who had an ongoing issue of blood. This is a beautiful interaction we see between our gentle Saviour and a dear lady who had been suffering terribly as a result of this condition.

I pray these verses and points for reflection (which will be in the second video) can encourage us to come to our loving Saviour for all our healing needs. He truly is Jehovah Rapha, our Great Physician.

Sunday 13 August 2023

But God Will Not Allow Us To Be Tempted Beyond What We Are Able

August's "But God" verses take a look at 1 Corinthians 10:13. Are you feeling tempted to go down an ungodly path? Sometimes when we're feeling tempted, we just need to "make like Joseph" and run! If temptation is knocking on your door today, look for the open window and get out of there!

By God's grace, may we choose to walk according to the Spirit and not the flesh. God will always provide a way for us to stay close to Him. L x

Jesus Is Our Strength

Last week we focused on Jesus being our Refuge. Seeing as there's an extra week in August, I thought this was a perfect time to bring in an extra edition of my "Jesus Is" series!
This week, we follow on by dwelling on the wonderfully encouraging truth from Psalm 46:1 that Jesus is also our Strength! A very present help in trouble.

What area are you feeling weak in today? When you consider that God's grace is sufficient for each day and His power is made perfect in weakness, can you turn the tables and actually boast in that weakness so that the power of Christ may rest on you?

God bless you today and praise the Lord for His unending source of strength!

Wednesday 2 August 2023

Jesus Is Our Refuge

Are you feeling wearied by the troubles of this world? Is your spirit tired and worn down through the trials of life? May we find comfort and replenishment for the soul this August as we turn to Jesus Christ, our Refuge.

Women Of The Bible- Ruth

The female of focus for July in my, "Women Of The Bible" series is the incredible lady called Ruth. Ruth has a whole book in the Old Testament so it proved to be a deep and fascinating study.

I pray the nuggets of gold that I sifted out can be a blessing to you. Love Lucy x

Straight Into The Arms Of Jesus

One afternoon in July 2023, I was listening to a sermon by my Pastor, Alwyn Wall as part of my research for a poetry series I was writing at the time. He was teaching on Matthew 9:18-26 where we hear about the woman with the issue of blood as well as a man called Jairus, whose young daughter had died.

In the middle of the sermon, Alwyn explained that he often has people asking him what happens to the soul of a baby or a young child when they die. Before he went on to answer this heartbreaking question, I heard myself respond with the words, “They go straight into the arms of Jesus.”

I suddenly felt the Holy Spirit place the weight of these words into my heart and with tears in my eyes, I soon found myself writing my little poem. I pray these words can offer even a flicker of comfort and peace to anyone who may be going through the terrible sorrow of losing a little one. May the God of all comfort guard your heart as we await the glorious reunion that’s promised to us in Heaven one day.

But God Showed His Love While We Were Still Sinners

To show love to someone who doesn't love you back can be a very hard thing indeed, yet Jesus calls us to love our enemies in Matthew 5:43-45. This would seem like a ridiculous expectation if our Saviour hadn't already shown us that it's possible.

July's "But God" verses take a look at Romans 5:6-8 where we're shown the ultimate example of loving the unlovable. Praises to our wonderful Saviour who leads the way!

But God...Showed His Love While We Were Still Sinners

Romans 5:6-8
“For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Monday 3 July 2023

Jesus Is Our Righteousness

For the start of July we return to my "Jesus Is..." series. So far this year we've looked at just some of the incredible things that Jesus is to us. We've seen that Jesus is our Creator, Father, Friend, Saviour, Warrior and Advocate. What a list!

This month, we focus on the fact that Jesus is our Righteousness. Praises to Jehovah Tsidkenu! The Lord my Righteousness!

Monday 26 June 2023

Think

My Pastor was giving a sermon about the power of the tongue one Sunday morning. He explained that often times, it would be so helpful if only we would think before we spoke!

As part of his teaching, he shared a helpful tool with the congregation that took each letter of the word “Think” and applied it to another word that could be beneficial to consider before opening our mouths to speak. I felt this acrostic list would make a great acrostic poem of sorts and soon found myself writing down some verses.

It’s a fairly simple and short little poem but the challenges within could certainly be viewed as rather tricky! The taming of the tongue can be the hardest thing to do but I pray my little poem called “Think” can help us in a practical sense in this life-long and daily venture!

May we consider wisely what words we use when speaking to others and seek to only use those which edify and bring honour to our Lord.

Women Of The Bible- Miriam

My biblical female of focus for June is Miriam, the sister of Moses. I found this to be an absolutely fascinating study with so much to learn from the Prophetess known as Miriam.

I've had to cut this video into two sections. Part one contains the Scriptures and the poem itself, part two will be the Points for Reflection and Insight section.

I pray you can take the time to listen to or read this study as the life of Miriam and the lessons within really offer us so much depth.

But God Sees All People As Equal

Continuing on with my, "But God" series with June's edition which takes a look at the fact that God sees all people as equal. In a world where the love and respect shown to us can often be dependant on so many factors, it's beyond wonderful to know that Jesus looks at things very differently indeed.

Our nationality, bank account and job status mean nothing to our Saviour. All He's interested in is a surrendered heart. What an amazing God and I'm so grateful for His unconditional love that saw Him face the Cross for anyone who would call upon His name!

Have you called upon the name of Jesus yet? If not, why not? Don't waste another moment! Ask Jesus into your life today because He loves you!

But God...Sees All People As Equal

Acts 10:28
“Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.”

Tuesday 6 June 2023

Jesus Is Our Advocate

Welcome, June! Our first post for this month is a return to my "Jesus Is" series with a focus on the wonderful and reassuring truth that Jesus is our Advocate!

Monday 22 May 2023

Women Of The Bible- Proverbs 31 Woman

I found the study of the Proverbs 31 woman so insightful and refreshing! I was amazed to discover it's not written with the intention of being an unattainable check-list for every Christian woman but rather a word of advice from a mother to her son.
I hope you enjoy this devotional and find it as edifying and uplifting as I did!

Monday 15 May 2023

Fabulous At Fifty!

One of the most precious blessings in life is the gift of great friends and I’m incredibly grateful to say that the Lord has blessed me with some wonderful friendships. This poem was written especially for one of my closest friends, Irene to help celebrate her 50th Birthday!

I love writing personal poems for people although it certainly poses a challenge to try and capture the essence of an entire personality and life history in the space of just a few verses! These words barely scratch the surface when it comes to my talented friend and dear sister in Christ but hopefully they can bring a bit of humour and a smile to whoever reads them.

Thankfully Irene loved her personalised poem when I shared it at her Birthday Party and there were a few tears shed as we visited just some of the highlights from her journey so far. I pray these words can also bless others and can encourage us all to appreciate the godly brothers and sisters God puts into our lives.

It’s such an honour to have true friends who we can laugh with, cry with, share a love for Jesus and make memories with. Friends bring so much colour and joy into our day and so I pray this little poem can inspire us all to appreciate those valuable connections we have in our own lives. May we remember to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us and give thanks to our Saviour for the beautiful gift of friends!

Tuesday 9 May 2023

But God Protects Us

Last week we meditated on the encouraging truth that Jesus is our Warrior. It seems a fitting continuation this week to dwell on the fact that God protects us!
Others may seek to cause us harm and the enemy may try to stumble us, But God protects us. Praise the Lord!

But God...Protects Us

1 Samuel 23:14
“And David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness, and remained in the mountains in the Wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand.”

Thursday 4 May 2023

Jesus Is Our Warrior

Welcome, May! What better way to start off the new month than to focus on the wonderful truth that we don't fight our battles alone when we serve Jehovah Tsaba!

The eyes of our mighty God go to and fro across the whole Earth, watching out for His children always. Protecting and defending us against forces both seen and unseen, Jesus truly is our Warrior!

What battles are you fighting today? May we invite the power of Christ into each situation and rest in the knowledge that we don't fight alone. We have the strength of the Almighty God on our side!

Tuesday 25 April 2023

Women Of The Bible- Mary Magdalene

After celebrating Easter this month, it seems only right to focus on Mary Magdalene, the first person to speak to Jesus after His resurrection! I pray you enjoy my April offering for my series, Women Of The Bible.

Tuesday 18 April 2023

But God Raised Jesus From The Dead

Having just celebrated Easter last week, what better "But God" verses are there to focus on than Acts 13:29-30? Praise the Lord for the Resurrection!

But God...Raised Jesus From The Dead

Acts 13:29-30
“When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he was seen by those who had traveled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now his witnesses to our people.”

Tuesday 11 April 2023

Jesus Is Our Saviour

Having celebrated Easter in the last few days, what better truth to focus on this month than the fact that Jesus is our Saviour!

Sunday 2 April 2023

My Saviour Knew

Every year in the lead up to Good Friday, I see posts on social media mocking Jesus. Many times I’ve come across cartoon drawings or jokes, portraying Jesus as some sort of unknowing simpleton who has no idea what’s about to happen to Him in regards to the Crucifixion.

The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ however, was carefully thought out and planned by God, millenniums before mankind ever existed. Christ’s death was part of God’s plan for man from the very beginning as He knew we would need saving from the consequences of our own sin. As we’re told in Acts 2:23,

“This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put Him to death by nailing Him to the cross.”

There are many Scriptures which show us that Jesus Himself predicted His own death and identified His betrayer Judas, long before Crucifixion Day. To paint Jesus, the Creator of the Universe as oblivious and unaware is, ironically, a very foolish and uninformed thing to do.

Fall In Love

I was over the moon when my lovely friend and sister-in-Christ, Katy got engaged in August 2022. She and her new fiancé, David asked me if I would write a poem especially for their wedding day and it was my absolute pleasure to say yes! Of course before a single word was written, I had to pray for inspiration first and ask the Lord to lead me! Thankfully I soon felt inspired to write my poem called, “Fall In Love.”

Having been married for over 13 years at the time of writing this poem, I felt the best advice I could give a couple at the beginning of their journey as husband and wife would be to pursue Jesus as the central focus of their relationship.

I once heard an analogy that said a Christian marriage is like a triangle. Jesus is the point at the top and the husband and wife are the points opposite each other at the bottom. The idea is that the closer you draw to Jesus at the peak, the closer you’ll draw to each other. It was this lovely image, among other things that I hoped to capture within my poem.

I pray these words can be used not just by me for Katy’s wedding but also by many others to bless the Bride and Groom on their special day too. May Jesus be the focus of every Christian marriage, helping us and inspiring us to be the best spouses we can be to our partners. May we always allow our First Love to captivate our hearts as we choose daily, to fall in love with Him!

Women Of The Bible- Rachel

This week we return to my, "Women of the Bible" series with a look at the person of Rachel. Wife of Jacob and mother of Joseph and Benjamin, Rachel's life was full of highs and lows. I hope these verses and points for reflection can bless us today as we take a look at just a few of the key elements we find in the life of this fascinating woman.

Monday 6 March 2023

But God Fights Our Battles

This week we return to my, "But God" series. For March, I thought it might be a comfort for us to remember that the battle is not ours, but God's.

But God...Fights Our Battles

2 Chronicles 20:15
“And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.””

Tuesday 28 February 2023

Jesus Is Our Friend

So far we've looked at the fact that Jesus is our Creator then also our Father. Taking another step closer into our personal relationship with God, this month we focus on the beautiful truth that Jesus is our Friend.

Tuesday 21 February 2023

Women Of The Bible- Mary And Martha

Our second visit to my "Women Of The Bible" poetry series has us take a look at the story of Mary and Martha. These sisters can be found in Luke 10 and there's a lot we can take from this particular encounter with Jesus.

I hope these verses and points for reflection are a blessing for you today.

Tuesday 7 February 2023

But God Gives The Increase

In January I started my "But God" series with a look at the truth that God is always with us. For February, let's focus on the fact that while our calling is to witness and share the Gospel with those around us, it's God who gives the increase!

But God...Gives The Increase

1 Corinthians 3:5-7
“Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?  I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.  So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.”

Tuesday 31 January 2023

Jesus Is...Our Father

Last month we took a look at the fact that Jesus is our Creator. For February, we focus on the wonderful truth that Jesus is our Father.

I find it incredible to think that the God who is big enough to be the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth is also intimate and personal enough to be my Father. He's not a distant and unknowable God, He's so up-close and personal that He calls us His children!

May we give thanks to God for this wonderful blessing in our lives.

Sunday 22 January 2023

Women Of The Bible- Eve

Introducing my third series for 2023, "Women Of The Bible!" I thought it would be a good place to start with the very first woman ever created- Eve.
In this series I plan to take a look at different female characters we meet in the Bible and highlight some nuggets of truth and observations from their real life highs and lows. This series will come with Scriptures, poetry verses, points for reflection and insight afterwards.

I hope these words and videos can help us learn from both their positive and negative traits which the Bible never seeks to hide from us. Hearing about their challenges, successes and failures encourages us and I pray this poetry series helps us to relate to just some of the many fascinating ladies we meet in God's Word.

May it aid us with the practical application of Biblical wisdom in our lives and draw us closer to God as we learn about some of history's most intriguing women!

Saturday 21 January 2023

"Mr Katy"

My dear friend Katy and I would meet in a zoom call every Wednesday morning during the first difficult months of the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020. We would use this time to share life with each other and talk through different challenges and triumphs.

Katy and I have been friends since the beginning of 2019 and performed together many times but I would say our friendship really deepened through the dark days of the pandemic. It was one of the silver linings for me in that troubling time and I’ll be forever grateful for this ray of sunshine and gift of friendship.

At the end of every zoom call we would have a time of prayer when we would lift each other up to the Lord and pray through any specific requests. It was during this time that we began to really pray for a husband for Katy. She had shared with me her desire to be married and so we started to pray for God’s will in this situation. We knew that if God had a husband included as part of His plans for Katy’s life then He would bring him along in His perfect time.

Salute To The Sequin

The Lord gives us so many things to enjoy and appreciate in life. Most people who have met me know pretty quickly that something I love is all things glittery, sparkly and covered in sequins! I've always been a bit of a magpie and find myself drawn to anything that shimmers. :)

I thought it was about time I wrote a poem dedicated to my love of the sequin and my prayer is that it can bring a bit of humour and fun into your day! Thank the Lord for sequins and all the joy they bring!

Ps This poem very much falls in line with my personal saying, "Life's too short to be anything other than extra!"

Sunday 8 January 2023

But God...Is Always With Us

My second new series for 2023 is called, "But God..." There are so many places in the Bible where these two words appear and turn a situation around. Sometimes they remind us that although circumstances may seem one way, when God is placed in the middle of things, it can change our focus and perhaps even the outcome completely!

I thought it might be a great encouragement for us to take a look at just some of these statements as we journey through the year. I'm sure we all have many "But God" moments in our own lives to speak of so I hope these verses can inspire us to give thanks to our Saviour and share our own "But God" experiences with others!

But God...Is Always With Us

Genesis 48:21
“Then Israel said to Joseph, “I am about to die, but God will be with you and take you back to the land of your fathers.””

Acts 7:9
“Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him.”

Monday 2 January 2023

Jesus Is...Our Creator

My first new series for 2023 is called "Jesus Is..." At the start of each month I'll share a little verse, some Scriptures and a prayer of thanks!

Jesus is of course infinite and He is so many things to so many people. The list of all the wonderful things Jesus is to us would never end as an infinite God can never be captured with a finite number of words!

Within this series however, I hope to give us some simple truths to dwell on and give thanks for at the beginning of each month. I pray these verses are a blessing to you as we consider just some of the incredible things Jesus is!

Ps My little Highland Cow friend, Angus wanted to make an appearance with me to start the year off!

Jesus Is...Our Creator

John 1:1-3

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
