The Lord gives us so many things to enjoy and appreciate in life. Most people who have met me know pretty quickly that something I love is all things glittery, sparkly and covered in sequins! I've always been a bit of a magpie and find myself drawn to anything that shimmers. :)
I thought it was about time I wrote a poem dedicated to my love of the sequin and my prayer is that it can bring a bit of humour and fun into your day! Thank the Lord for sequins and all the joy they bring!

They always bring my heart a lift with all the joy they bring!
They really are a treasure to dazzle all around.
It’s true that where a sequin is, I too can soon be found!
I’m drawn in like a magpie to gems and sparkly rings.
One can never have enough of all the shiny things!
Gemstones on my trainers give me snazzy feet!
With twinkle toes, I’ll happily go prancing down the street!
Oh yes, I love a sequin or rhinestones on my clothes.
Whatever item glittered most will be the one I chose!
I love the way they glisten and twinkle in the sun.
A jumper with a sequinned sleeve can bring the day such fun!
Give me scarves that shimmer and gems to catch the eye.
Bring me jackets, tops and belts to wink at passersby!
Cardigans that gleam and glint are really all the rage
And help me feel my very best, singing centre stage!
But I’ll wear sparkles daily, I need no “special reason.”
I don’t accept the view they should be saved for Christmas season.
Whoever said that anyway? Who made up this rule?
Ten months of boring clothing is ridiculous and cruel.
Life’s too short for boring! I don’t have time for dim.
Give me tops in every shade to match the mood I’m in!
Yes bring me vibrant colours to liven up the day!
I simply will not spend my life in navy, black or grey.
Britain’s dreary wardrobe is really not enough.
I need Miami colours or at least a jazzy cuff!
My life-long love of sparkles won’t fade as I get older.
I’m not ashamed to say that I still love a sequinned shoulder!
I “heart” bedazzled clothing, though some prefer things tame
But think how sterile life would be if we all dressed the same!
I’ll stick to wearing sequins though many think them trashy,
I’ll celebrate variety yet keep things looking classy!
Yes sparkles can be stylish, my love for them remains.
I guess I’m just born “extra,” with glitter in my veins!
