Last week we focused on Jesus being our Refuge. Seeing as there's an extra week in August, I thought this was a perfect time to bring in an extra edition of my "Jesus Is" series!
This week, we follow on by dwelling on the wonderfully encouraging truth from Psalm 46:1 that Jesus is also our Strength! A very present help in trouble.
What area are you feeling weak in today? When you consider that God's grace is sufficient for each day and His power is made perfect in weakness, can you turn the tables and actually boast in that weakness so that the power of Christ may rest on you?

Psalm 28:8
“The Lord is their strength, And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Isaiah 40:29
“He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.”
Isaiah 41:9-10
“I took you from the ends of the earth,
from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Let’s Pray
Heavenly Father, I praise You for the strength You provide me each day. I stand in awe at the knowledge that You can work through me in spite of my weaknesses. I’m amazed that You would choose such a flawed and weak vessel for Your Kingdom’s service.
May Your strength be evident in my life and give others cause to glorify Your name in Heaven.
Empower me today I pray. Give me a divine touch from Your hand and fill me with the strength to face whatever lies ahead. When I am overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I and remind me where my strength comes from! You are the everlasting God whose strength never tires nor runs dry.
Keep my eyes focused on only the tasks I face today and may my efforts bring You glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
