Poetry Bloopers 2022!

On the eve of the last day of 2022, it seems like a good time to share my Bloopers reel for this year!

Recording each poetry post certainly takes a lot of time and concentration and it doesn't go without it's trials! From overly zealous candles to the usual chaotic sound effects of London, to speeding auto cues, rumbling stomachs, unruly hair and a leaf blower that I thought was a drill, the challenges just never seem to stop. I even seemed to develop a couple of speech impediments this year! :)

I'm grateful that it keeps me on my toes though and I pray I have many more fun moments to share with you in 2023. For now, I hope this little 2022 bloopers compilation brings you a smile today. :)

The Parables Of The Hidden Treasure And The Pearl Of Great Price

(A Teaching On The Value Of Each Individual Soul)

Matthew 13:44-46

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.”

Christmas Contemplation

With Christmas 2022 fast approaching, I was dwelling on the words found in Isaiah 9:6 one afternoon. The verse reads,

“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

I thought this description of Jesus made a wonderful meditation all on it’s own and was like a spiritual shower for the soul! Contemplating each title given to our Saviour in this verse really encouraged and comforted my heart. I felt it would make a lovely little meditative poem and soon found myself writing down my thoughts.
I pray these words can be a blessing to you whether it’s Christmas or any other time of the year!

Last week we had a look at Jesus' statement in John 8:12 where He said, "I am the light of the world." This week, for our very last verses in my "You Are" series we focus on the wonderful and challenging truth that as Christians, we are a light FOR the world!
