Poetry Bloopers 2024!

To keep up with my tradition of ending the year with a collection of some of the poetry bloopers captured during recording, here we have 2024's offerings!

From spoonerisms to thunder, from dogs barking or the many street noises of London to "burny" lipgloss, (how very Scottish) as well as computers suddenly launching into conversation or even dropdown messages from my husband and daily news, there are certainly so many obstacles to make recording a challenge!

As always though, I absolutely love having new material to work with and it certainly keeps me on my toes throughout the year! I'm incredibly grateful for every poem the Lord puts on my heart and I pray they serve His purposes in whatever capacity He desires.

I hope this little video can give you a chuckle as we come to the end of another year and I pray you have a fabulous New Year's Eve (or Hogmanay as we say in Scotland) when it comes. God bless you and I wish you and your family all the very best in 2025! Here's to new poetry in the new year! Much love, Lucy x

Fruit Of The Spirit- Self Control

The final part of my "Fruit Of The Spirit" series takes a look at the fruit of self control.
I hope this poetry series has been a blessing to you this year and I know it's certainly brought challenges to my own heart as I've studied, written and shared these verses and meditations.
God bless you today and I pray you have a wonderful Christmas week. Love Lucy x

When I Feel...Exhausted

To conclude my 2024 series called, "When I Feel..." I thought I would cover a common scenario in the lead up to Christmas which is, "When I Feel...Exhausted."

Christmas is of course a season which is really about celebrating the birth of our wonderful Saviour. Unfortunately, it can be far too easy to get caught up in the pressures of gift-buying, sight-seeing and creating the perfect Christmas Day meal for what can feel like a reenactment of feeding the five thousand! Add to that a lack of sunlight (at least for us Brits) and a thousand germs flying around from person to person and before we know it, December can feel like an endurance test!

If you're feeling on the verge of exhaustion this month or perhaps already fully immersed in it, I pray this poem and devotional section can help and bless you. With much love, Lucy x

A Wonderful Life

As Christmas 2024 approached, a family member asked me, “Have you ever written a poem from the perspective of, ‘What if Jesus had never been born?’” This idea reminded me of the famous film called, “It’s a Wonderful Life” which was released in 1946.

The story focuses on frustrated businessman, George Bailey who becomes so depressed he considers taking his own life. An angel from Heaven is sent to Bailey and in an effort to help him have a change of heart, the angel shows him what life would have been like had he never existed.

I felt the question posed a really unique and challenging position to write from but with prayer and by God’s grace, I wrote my poem, “A Wonderful Life.”
