So far we've looked at the fact that Jesus is our Creator then also our Father. Taking another step closer into our personal relationship with God, this month we focus on the beautiful truth that Jesus is our Friend.
Jesus Is...Our Friend John 15:15
“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
"Jesus is our closest friend who knows our every thought.
Before a word is on our tongue, it’s understood by God.
He comprehends our going out and knows our coming in.
A better friend we will not find, oh may we turn to Him!"
Psalm 139:1-4
“O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.”
James 2:23
“And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.”
Let's Pray
Lord Jesus, thank You so much that You aren’t a distant God, only to be admired from afar but a personal God who calls each of His people, friend. What a privilege it is to know that we have such an up-close and personal relationship with You.
What an incredible thought to consider that the Creator of all the Heavens and the Earth would look at someone like me and consider me worthy of being called Your friend.
Thank You Father for this gift of friendship. Thank You for being my faithful friend who understands me fully, cares for me and walks side by side with me each day. I’m so grateful for You, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
