The Miracles of God - Parting the Sea

Continuing on with my series called "The Miracles of God," this month we take a look at when God parted the sea in Exodus 14.
Are you facing a situation today that seems impossible and like there’s no way through?
Are people devising wicked schemes against you and plotting your ruin?
If you answered yes to either of these questions, I pray this little verse and meditation can encourage your heart today. Much love, Lucy x

The Miracles Of God- Parting The Sea

Exodus 14:19-31

“And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians.  And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained. But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses.”

Thinking Of You

The second little poem in my series entitled "Spiritual Shorts" is called "Thinking Of You." I pray these verses can help us stand in awe at the level of care and attention our Saviour lavishes upon us. Much love, Lucy x

When I Grow Up

The majority of this poem was originally written for my nephews, Reuben and Micah, when they were just little boys. I wrote them a poem called “Two Peas In A Pod” and created a personalised picture book to go along with it. They had great fun seeing images of themselves mixed in with circus animals and superhero capes!

Years later, I felt inspired to rework this old poem and add different verses to it for a couple of children’s concerts I had been asked to perform in. I knew that the audience would be a mixture of children ranging from the very young to teenagers, so I wanted to work in a variety of career options with a bit of “Gen-Z” chat thrown in for good measure!

I love to encourage young ones to dream big and use their imagination, but most of all, I love to bring the focus onto the One who created each of us and has unique plans for our lives. I pray this colourful and playful poem can be shared with young generations for many years to come!

The Twelve Tribes Of Israel- The Tribe Of Reuben

My third and final series for 2025 is called, “The Twelve Tribes Of Israel.” I’ll be studying and writing this series as we go through the year and hopefully bringing some insight into the fascinating people, lives, and stories behind these tribes.
The twelve tribes of Israel were named after the sons and grandsons of Jacob, who also became known as Israel. Jacob had twelve sons with his wives Leah and Rachel and also his concubines Bilhah and Zilpah.
I plan to give some key facts surrounding the birth of each son, followed by a look at the prophetic blessing given to them individually as Jacob neared the end of his life. There are so many interesting lessons and truths for life that we can observe through looking at the tribes of Israel, and so I pray this series is insightful and a blessing to you as we venture through 2025!

The Miracles Of God- Water Turned To Wine

My second series for 2025 is called, “The Miracles of God.” Within this series, I’ll be sharing the Scripture where the miracle occurs, a short, one-verse poem of encouragement, and then a few paragraphs of reflection and things to contemplate.

I hope this series can remind us of the incredible things God has already done and give us confidence to bring our own situations before Him in prayer. May these little poems and meditations spark a desire within our hearts to delve further into His Word, trust His unchanging character, and give Him praise for His faithfulness as He helps us navigate the different challenges we face in life. Nothing is impossible for the God we serve. He truly is the God of miracles!

The Miracles Of God- Water Turned To Wine

John 2:1-11
“On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
Now there were set there six water pots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.”

Don't Look Back

Happy New Year and welcome to the first of my new series! This series I’ve written for 2025 is called, “Spiritual Shorts.” I’ve written these poems with the idea that they won’t come with an introduction but instead delve straight into a topic and then offer points for personal reflection at the end before closing in prayer.

These poems may speak to people differently, but I pray that they may be edifying to all and used to serve the Lord’s purposes within each of our hearts. May 2025 be a wonderful year for you. Love Lucy x
