The Miracles Of God- Jesus Feeds The Five Thousand

We're now half way through my series on "The Miracles of God" which I can't quite believe! For June, I thought I would take a look at the miracle found in Matthew 14 when Jesus fed thousands of people with just a few fish and some loaves.

I pray this short poem and meditation can encourage us to bring our own "small offerings" before God today and trust Him to do the miracle of multiplication. Small offerings are not an issue for our God! May we take what we have and make it available for Kingdom service today! Love Lucy x

The Miracles Of God- Jesus Feeds The Five Thousand

Matthew 14:13-21
“When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.”
But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”
He said, “Bring them here to Me.”
Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.”

A Little Sunshine

To kick us off in June, we have a cheery little poem from my series called "Spiritual Shorts". As we enter the (hopefully!) sunny months of the year, let's also bring a little sunshine into the lives of those around us! Love Lucy x

The Twelve Tribes Of Israel- The Tribe Of Zebulun

To conclude the month of May we carry on with my series on The Twelve Tribes of Isreal. This month, we see Jacob break away from addressing his sons in chronological order and so we take a look at the tribe of Zebulun. I pray this study is a blessing to you! Love Lucy x

The Miracles of God - Jesus Calms the Storm

This poem takes a look at the incredible miracle Jesus performed in Matthew chapter 8 when He calmed the storm. Do you feel like you're being thrown around by a fierce storm right now and feel overwhelmed by its power? Have you heard your heart cry, "Jesus, don't You care? Wake up and save me!" I pray this short poem and meditation can minister to you today if any of this sounds familiar. God bless you as you trust in Him. Love Lucy x

The Miracles Of God- Jesus Calms the Storm

Matthew 8:23-27
“Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marvelled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

Don't Race Ahead

In January we kicked off my "Spiritual Shorts" series with my poem "Don't Look Back". This month's edition takes the flip side of that with "Don't Race Ahead".

Some helpful questions to ask ourselves today might be, "Am I trying to race ahead of God just now? Am I trying to rush a certain situation because I’ve grown impatient waiting for God to move or provide me with something I want? Am I rushing into something just now because I’ve grown tired of waiting?"

If the answer to any of these is "yes", then I pray these verses and meditations can be helpful to you. Much love, Lucy x

The Doodle And The Squawk Box

To finish off the month on a fun note with a touch of whimsy, I thought I would share one of my "Capturing the Moment" poems! This one was inspired by a real event that took place one day in the garden of a Golden Doodle dog called Lucy when a very noisy little bird came to visit. I hope you enjoy my poem called "The Doodle and the Squawk Box."

The Twelve Tribes of Israel- The Tribe of Judah

The fourth poem for my "Twelve Tribes of Israel" series takes a look at the tribe of Judah. This is a particularly interesting study for several reasons. Firstly, we hear the change in Leah's attitude as she gives birth to her fourth son, Judah. Secondly, the tribe of Judah is not only the tribe that King David came from, but it's also the one that Jesus Christ Himself descended from!
The first video covers the Scriptures and the poem section, the second looks at Judah's birth while the third focuses on Jacob's prophetic blessing and my closing thoughts. I pray this poem and study can be a blessing to you. Much love, Lucy x

The Miracles of God - The Resurrection

What better miracle of God to focus on this Easter week than the miracle of the Resurrection?! May this short poem and meditation be a blessing to you as we approach such an important celebration. Much love, Lucy x

The Miracles Of God- The Resurrection

Romans 6:8-11
“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

No Other Name

Delving into my "Spiritual Shorts" series for April, we have a concise little poem especially for Easter month called "No Other Name." May it bless you as we approach this Easter time. Love Lucy x

Be Diligent

This poem was inspired by Hebrews 4:9-11, which reads,

“There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”

As I was meditating on these Scriptures one day, I began to think about the phrase, “Be diligent to enter that rest.” This wording seemed to completely counter the way the world works and also the way we work as people, generally speaking. It almost sounds like a contradiction to be diligent to rest in the Lord, yet it’s what we’re exhorted to do in the book of Hebrews.

Human instinct often dictates that we want to feel worthy of something and that we’ve earned it. Salvation is not something we can earn, however, it’s a gift from God through Christ’s efforts, not our own. In other words, when it comes to having peace with God, we have to fight against our human instinct to rely on our own efforts and instead trust entirely in the work of Christ.

As challenging as this concept is, it’s incredibly liberating when embraced. Jesus gives us so much to rejoice over, and after pondering these verses for a while, my grateful heart soon began to overflow with poetic praise once again!

The Twelve Tribes of Israel - The Tribe of Levi

To conclude March, we take a look at the Tribe of Levi as part of my "Twelve Tribes of Israel" series. The first video focuses on the Scriptures and poem, while the second one will offer some insight into the details behind both Levi and his tribe. May this story of repentance and redemption encourage our souls today! Much love, Lucy x

The Miracles Of God - Jesus Cleanses The Leper

This month, the miracle I focus in on is the one we read about in Mark 1:40-45 when Jesus cleanses the leper. I hope this little verse and meditation can be a blessing to you today. Much love, Lucy x

The Miracles Of God- Jesus Cleanses The Leper

Mark 1:40-45

“Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once, and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.”

A Mother's Love

My third poem for my series, "Spiritual Shorts," is one I've chosen especially for the month when we celebrate Mother's Day. This poem is inspired by and entitled "A Mother's Love."

May these words be used to bless the many women of this world who have enriched our lives with their motherly love and care. Love Lucy x

The Twelve Tribes Of Israel - The Tribe Of Simeon

To conclude the month, we continue on with my series called "The Twelve Tribes of Israel." For February, we take a look at Simeon, the second son of Jacob and Leah.
I found this study fascinating. Between the meaning of his name, what it revealed was going on in Leah's heart, and the significance of Jacob's prophetic blessing, there was plenty for me to dive into!
This study comes with three videos for more bitesize viewing and I pray it can be a blessing to you. Much love, Lucy x

The Miracles of God - Parting the Sea

Continuing on with my series called "The Miracles of God," this month we take a look at when God parted the sea in Exodus 14.
Are you facing a situation today that seems impossible and like there’s no way through?
Are people devising wicked schemes against you and plotting your ruin?
If you answered yes to either of these questions, I pray this little verse and meditation can encourage your heart today. Much love, Lucy x

The Miracles Of God- Parting The Sea

Exodus 14:19-31

“And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians.  And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained. But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses.”

Thinking Of You

The second little poem in my series entitled "Spiritual Shorts" is called "Thinking Of You." I pray these verses can help us stand in awe at the level of care and attention our Saviour lavishes upon us. Much love, Lucy x

When I Grow Up

The majority of this poem was originally written for my nephews, Reuben and Micah, when they were just little boys. I wrote them a poem called “Two Peas In A Pod” and created a personalised picture book to go along with it. They had great fun seeing images of themselves mixed in with circus animals and superhero capes!

Years later, I felt inspired to rework this old poem and add different verses to it for a couple of children’s concerts I had been asked to perform in. I knew that the audience would be a mixture of children ranging from the very young to teenagers, so I wanted to work in a variety of career options with a bit of “Gen-Z” chat thrown in for good measure!

I love to encourage young ones to dream big and use their imagination, but most of all, I love to bring the focus onto the One who created each of us and has unique plans for our lives. I pray this colourful and playful poem can be shared with young generations for many years to come!

The Twelve Tribes Of Israel- The Tribe Of Reuben

My third and final series for 2025 is called, “The Twelve Tribes Of Israel.” I’ll be studying and writing this series as we go through the year and hopefully bringing some insight into the fascinating people, lives, and stories behind these tribes.
The twelve tribes of Israel were named after the sons and grandsons of Jacob, who also became known as Israel. Jacob had twelve sons with his wives Leah and Rachel and also his concubines Bilhah and Zilpah.
I plan to give some key facts surrounding the birth of each son, followed by a look at the prophetic blessing given to them individually as Jacob neared the end of his life. There are so many interesting lessons and truths for life that we can observe through looking at the tribes of Israel, and so I pray this series is insightful and a blessing to you as we venture through 2025!

The Miracles Of God- Water Turned To Wine

My second series for 2025 is called, “The Miracles of God.” Within this series, I’ll be sharing the Scripture where the miracle occurs, a short, one-verse poem of encouragement, and then a few paragraphs of reflection and things to contemplate.

I hope this series can remind us of the incredible things God has already done and give us confidence to bring our own situations before Him in prayer. May these little poems and meditations spark a desire within our hearts to delve further into His Word, trust His unchanging character, and give Him praise for His faithfulness as He helps us navigate the different challenges we face in life. Nothing is impossible for the God we serve. He truly is the God of miracles!

The Miracles Of God- Water Turned To Wine

John 2:1-11
“On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
Now there were set there six water pots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.”

Don't Look Back

Happy New Year and welcome to the first of my new series! This series I’ve written for 2025 is called, “Spiritual Shorts.” I’ve written these poems with the idea that they won’t come with an introduction but instead delve straight into a topic and then offer points for personal reflection at the end before closing in prayer.

These poems may speak to people differently, but I pray that they may be edifying to all and used to serve the Lord’s purposes within each of our hearts. May 2025 be a wonderful year for you. Love Lucy x
