Delving into my "Spiritual Shorts" series for April, we have a concise little poem especially for Easter month called "No Other Name." May it bless you as we approach this Easter time. Love Lucy x
Spiritual Shorts- No Other NameActs 4:11-12
“This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
No other name can save you.
No other name took the Cross.
Nobody else saw the problem of sin
And no other name paid the cost.
No other name brings salvation,
Redemption is found in just one.
No other name is the Truth and the Life,
And no other name is God’s Son.
No other name remained sinless
And showed there is only One Way.
All other names have gone down to the grave
And the grave is where they will stay.
Only one name conquered Hades
And rose to eternal acclaim!
Taking the sting out of death for mankind,
For those who will call on His name!
So what is the name that can save you,
For no other name has sufficed?
All glory and praise to the King of all kings!
His name is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:5-11
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Questions For Personal Reflection
Have I trusted in the name of Jesus Christ for salvation? If not, why not? What’s preventing me from accepting God’s forgiveness through Christ’s death on the Cross? Considering God can take care of me and look after all the things I’m concerned about, what could be more important than my soul’s eternal salvation? If I have accepted Jesus as my Saviour, who can I share the Gospel with today?
Closing Prayer
If you haven’t accepted Jesus as yous Saviour yet and would like to, pray this simple prayer, even if it’s just quietly within your heart. If you truly mean it, He will hear you.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Saviour. In Your Name I pray. Amen.
