All Is Well

August 2019 was the beginning of an extremely difficult time to say the least as my sister was diagnosed with cancer. This was of course an awful time for us as a family and if it hadn’t been for Jesus helping me through this season I really don’t think I could have coped with the sorrow and stress of it all. Thankfully we were told the cancer hadn’t spread and had been caught in time so was considered to be curable, praise the Lord! It was by no means an easy journey for my sister to take however and I’ve been left in awe of the bravery and grace she’s shown throughout the battle.

During this really dark time, I felt the Lord kept bringing three simple words to me to comfort my heart. Many times a brother or sister in Church would say these three words to encourage me or sometimes the Holy Spirit whispered them to my heart when I was praying about the situation. The words the Lord kept bringing to my attention were “All Is Well.” I cannot tell you how reassuring and comforting I found this simple phrase to be and it was like a soothing balm that calmed the burning fear within me.

I decided to send these words in a text one evening to my Mum in the hope of bringing encouragement to her soul too. Watching your child face cancer is no easy task. She told me the next day that although they were only three little words they had made such a huge impact on her heart. They had brought great peace and comfort to her spirit and had acted as a reminder that God is still in control.

After praying on the phone with my Mum one evening I felt prompted by the Lord to write a short poem based on the comfort Jesus brought to my heart through the words “All Is Well.” My prayer is that these verses can be like a spiritual hug and bring comfort to anyone who is struggling or going through a really hard time. Whatever the situation may be, let’s bring our sorrows and stresses to the Throne of God, lay them at His feet and feel the warmth of His embrace as He reminds our hearts that as long as we have Jesus, all is well.
All is well My precious one, come and find your rest.
Let My arms enfold you, lay your head upon My breast.
Simply breathe, be still and know. Let your spirit calm.
Be not overtaken and remember who I Am.

Give to Me your every woe and carry not the weight.
Do not dwell on deep concerns or tribulations great.
Bring Me your anxieties and know you’re not alone.
I Am in control and I still sit upon My Throne.

Take heart for I Am with you, your worries I can see
But this is not your battle and the fight belongs to Me.
My power knows no boundaries so give no place to fear.
My love surrounds your every breath, just know that I Am here.

Let My peace embrace your heart, let sorrow melt away.
Pass the reins to Me for I already know the way.
I know the plans I have for you so bid distress farewell.
Behold I’m with you always, now rest for all is well.

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”

Psalm 42:11

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.”

Psalm 23

“The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.”
