"I Am The Door"

For 2022, I felt inspired to write a series that focuses on the “I Am” statements of Jesus Christ. I gave myself two verses to express some key elements and truths found within the words of Jesus and what the message is for the listener.

As a parallel series to run alongside my “I Am” verses, I felt led to write a series called “You Are.” These two-verse poems will focus on who “you are” as a child of God and draw attention to just some of the many benefits and blessings of being a Christian.

My third and final series for this year is called “Poetry Through The Parables” which has it’s own introduction. I’ve written each of these series slightly differently from the ones in the past and have structured them to have moments of reflection, questions to ponder or taking some time to expand upon the Scriptures with an afterword of insight.

I plan to record all of these poems as well as recording the afterwords and points for reflection, which is new for 2022! I pray my writing can bless your heart this year, whether taken as a short devotional or something that inspires further study into God’s amazing Word.

The "I Am" Statements Of Jesus Christ- "I Am The Door."

John 10:9-10
“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

"Jesus brought attention to a truth we can’t ignore,
Salvation lies with Him alone for He’s the only Door.
No other name can save us or cleanse us from our sin,
We only have redemption when we choose to follow Him.

He offers us security, a place of rest and peace;
Enter through the doorway, let all other voices cease!
Look not to the robbers nor the thieves who came before,
Praises to the great “I Am” for He’s salvation’s Door!"

Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Acts 4:12
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Points For Reflection
How does it make you feel to know that Jesus is the only way to Heaven?
Do you know people who would rather believe that there are many ways to enter Heaven?
Are you ever tempted to compromise the truth to accommodate a broader but false view point?
Let’s ask Jesus to help us lovingly share the powerful, soul-saving, undiluted truth with people today.
