Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ- Messiah Would Be Born Through The Seed Of A Woman/Virgin Birth

My final verse for 2021 and for my "Prophesies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ" series takes a look at how Jesus fulfilled the prophecy that the Messiah would be born through the woman's seed and therefore through a virgin.

My Pastor has taught many times on the importance of the Virgin Birth and the significance of the reference to the "woman's seed." The Virgin Birth isn't just a sweet Christmas story, it's an integral part of the picture of God coming as Man to pay for the sins of the world.

Everyone born through the seed of man inherits Adam's sinful nature. This is why it was imperative for the Messiah to be born through a virgin and through the woman's seed. Jesus had to be sinless in order to be a pure and perfect Sacrifice who could pay for the sins of the world. If Jesus had come through the seed of man, inherited a sinful nature and had to pay for His own sins then He couldn't pay for the sins of others. His death on the Cross would have been for Himself and we would still be dead in our trespasses and sins.

It's such an incredible study and a beautiful truth for us to dwell on as we come to the end of 2021. I pray my "Prophecies" series has been a blessing to you this year even though it has barely touched the surface of the many prophecies our wonderful Saviour fulfilled! I hope it's given us food for thought and inspired hearts to delve further into this amazing subject found in God's Word.
Prohecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ- Messiah Would Be Born Through The Seed Of A Woman/ Virgin Birth

“Behold a Great Redeemer would live upon the Earth;
A Saviour would be born to us through the Virgin Birth.
Mary was that virgin, the highly favoured one.
Through the Seed of woman, God sent forth His Son.”

Prophecy found in Genesis 3:15
"And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

Also in Isaiah 7:14
"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel."

Fulfilment found in Galatians 4:4-5
"But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons."

Also in Matthew 1:18
"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit."

And Luke 1:35
"And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.""
