Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ- Messiah Would Be Born Through The Seed Of A Woman/Virgin Birth

My final verse for 2021 and for my "Prophesies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ" series takes a look at how Jesus fulfilled the prophecy that the Messiah would be born through the woman's seed and therefore through a virgin.

My Pastor has taught many times on the importance of the Virgin Birth and the significance of the reference to the "woman's seed." The Virgin Birth isn't just a sweet Christmas story, it's an integral part of the picture of God coming as Man to pay for the sins of the world.

Everyone born through the seed of man inherits Adam's sinful nature. This is why it was imperative for the Messiah to be born through a virgin and through the woman's seed. Jesus had to be sinless in order to be a pure and perfect Sacrifice who could pay for the sins of the world. If Jesus had come through the seed of man, inherited a sinful nature and had to pay for His own sins then He couldn't pay for the sins of others. His death on the Cross would have been for Himself and we would still be dead in our trespasses and sins.

It's such an incredible study and a beautiful truth for us to dwell on as we come to the end of 2021. I pray my "Prophecies" series has been a blessing to you this year even though it has barely touched the surface of the many prophecies our wonderful Saviour fulfilled! I hope it's given us food for thought and inspired hearts to delve further into this amazing subject found in God's Word.

The Attributes Of God- He Is Omnipresent

The final couplet in my 2021 "Attributes Of God" series focuses on the fact that God is everywhere at all times. Our Creator is not limited to being in one place at a time and there is no where we can go that takes us out of His reach. Quite a thought! Troubling for the rebellious sinner, comforting for the child of God.

When you think back over your walk with the Lord, how have you been aware of His presence being faithfully with you? Have you ever tried to run from God, only to discover there is nowhere to flee from His loving presence?

In my own life, I can see how Jesus has been my faithful Companion wherever I've gone. He's been with me wherever I've travelled in a physical sense but He's also been with me in other ways too. His presence truly knows no boundaries.

My Saviour, who doesn't need rest has rescued me from the depths of sleep and pulled me out of many unpleasant dreams. I've cried out to Him several times in the night and behold, He is there. I watched Him cut through the fog of Alzheimers in my Grandmother as she called to Him and behold, He was there.

In a world where people so often feel lonely and abandoned by others, what a blessing it is to know Jesus is faithfully with us and will never leave or forsake us, wherever we go.

Let The Children Sing!

I was listening to a sermon from Pastor Chuck Smith one day while I was doing the housework. He lamented the fact that children in schools were no longer allowed to sing praises to Jesus at Christmas time but teachers had no issue with them singing praises to Santa Clause and Rudolph.

I found myself thinking, “What a shame. Let the children sing!” Within minutes I had put down my dusting cloth, picked up my laptop and written my little poem, “Let The Children Sing!” I hope these verses can help encourage adults not to stifle every child’s right to know and worship their Creator through the beautiful art of song!

An Ode To Winter

I’ve always really enjoyed the changing of the Seasons throughout the year and all of the unique things that each one brings with it. I feel there’s always something lovely to be found either in nature or in the surrounding culture that lifts the spirits as the months pass, helping to keep life feeling fresh.

As the Summer of 2020 was beginning to fade and Autumn started to appear, I felt inspired to write a series of poems that would express my love and appreciation for nature’s constantly changing beauty. I hope these little poems and the pictures they create can bring joy to the heart and highlight God’s goodness as He blesses us each year with such wonderful, God-reflecting glory!

The fourth and final part of my “Ode To The Seasons” collection takes a look at some of my favourite things about Winter! I hope you've enjoyed my journey of poetry through the seasons and may this little video warm your heart this Winter.

God's Promise Of Rest

I can barely believe it but today we have our final couplet in my "God's Promises" series! This year we've looked at His promises for protection, love, hope, wisdom, answered prayer, companionship, strength, salvation, provision, forgiveness, peace and now finally for December, rest.

What an incredible list of precious treasures for the child of God! Even through all the challenges of the last year, I know I can look back and see how Jesus has brought all of these wonderful things into my life and I give Him praise for His faithfulness. What moments or situations come to your mind when you look at this list and think over the last twelve months?

I hope December's couplet, focusing on "rest" can bless and encourage us today. This month can certainly be full of stress and busyness but may we find rest in our heart and mind as we dwell on the Reason for this season.
