I started the week with a silly ditty of a poem so thought I'd finish with one! This humorous and observational little poem has waited three years to be aired as I wrote it during the lockdowns!
It falls into the category I call, "Pointless Poems" and came from my pandemic musings of, "Is there a subject so boring you can't write a poem about it?"
I hope my poem called, "Cabbages" can bring you some sound advice and a little smile this Friday! Love Lucy x
"Cabbages are green and white, it’s very clear to tell,
Though when you boil them in a pot they give off quite a smell.
They’re great for your digestion, though it’s worth some contemplation;
The key with cooking cabbage is to have good ventilation!
Crack a window, open doors, give the place some air.
Turn on the extractor fan and show your nose you care.
When you find your cabbage cooked, drain the pot with haste,
A warning though! Not all appreciate the cabbage taste!
They may find that they like it if they let down their defences,
Though too much cabbage can lead to some dire consequences!
The repercussions can be rough and really not ideal,
So eat your cabbage twice a week but not with every meal!"
