Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ- Not A Bone Of The Lamb Will Be Broken

November's concluding verse takes a look at how Jesus fulfilled the prophecy that not a bone of the Sacrificial Lamb would be broken.

When I think of what Jesus went through so that people like me could come into a relationship with Him, it fills my heart with awe and gratitude.

In a month when we remember so many who have laid down their lives for our freedom with Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, may we take a moment to give thanks to God for the ultimate sacrifice made by His Son on our behalf. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain so that we might be free! Holy, Holy, Holy is our Saviour, seated on His Throne in the Heavens and worthy of all our praises!

Seize The Day

I was scrolling through my news feed on social media one day in July 2021 when I happened to read a post that had been written by an old college friend of mine. His post read,

“I’ll buy dinner for anyone who can give me an honest answer. WHAT DID JESUS ACTUALLY DO?”

I had given the Gospel to my friend in the past but with such an open-door invitation, I instantly prayed about what was best to share and picked up my laptop. In a private message to my friend, I let him know that I’d read his post and said that it was a brilliant and important question with an even more important answer.

The Attributes Of God- Jesus Is Merciful

November's "Attributes of God" couplet focuses on God's nature being full of mercy. Where would we be if our Saviour wasn't merciful? Who could stand before Him?

Being on the receiving end of God's mercy, I am personally so grateful for His kind, compassionate heart which overflows with mercy towards His people. I particularly love the words of Ephesians 2:4-5 which tell us that not only is God merciful but that He is RICH in mercy towards us! His heart ABOUNDS in mercy and is not short on supplies!

It would take a plentiful source such as this to love the unlovable, to face the Cross on their behalf and extend compassion to unworthy sinners. I know I always say it, but praises to our wonderful Saviour and His beautiful heart of mercy, kindness and love!
The Attributes Of God- Jesus Is Merciful.

"Jesus Christ is merciful, compassionate and kind.
A love so inexhaustible, in Him alone we find."

Romans 9:15-16
"For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy."

Ephesians 2:4-5
"But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved.)"

Hebrews 4:16
"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

God's Promise Of Peace

Our penultimate couplet in my "Promises Of God" series focuses on God's promise of peace. Things can certainly start to get even more hectic in the lead up to the end of the year and 2021 certainly isn't short of additional drama! I often think the last couple of months of the year can be worlds away from peaceful for many.

On top of the usual challenges, there's also a huge amount of global unrest at the moment and concerns can rob us of our inner calm and peace if we let them. I've personally found that the best antidote to worry and stress is coming before God's Throne and asking Him to replace all my anxiety with His perfect peace. He is always faithful to do so and He gives the kind of peace that transcends understanding, defies logic and remains in place through the toughest trials of life.

Whatever we're facing today or over the coming weeks, I pray we can bring everything before our Saviour and watch the power of His Holy Spirit do miraculous things in our hearts! May we cast all our anxieties, worries and anything robbing us of our peace before Jehovah Shalom today. Let us be rid of anything that isn't worthy to be in His presence and praise His mighty name as He does the impossible. Only our faithful God could remove the weight of countless cares and fill us instead with His perfect peace.
